THE FAITHFUL RAVEN

I have read the passage in 1 Kings 17:1-6 time and again but without  much curiosity. From verse 4-6 reads:
You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”
So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

One day I decided to look up what ravens are and what their diet is.One of the articles said  "They are scavengers with a huge diet that includes fish, meat, seeds, fruit, carrion, and garbage"

Now I got fascinated. The ravens eat meat, but faithfully, they took the meat to Elijah every morning and evening. You see, they had the option of eating the meat instead. However, for the sake of His servant , Elijah, God commanded the ravens to take meat to him, and  caused them to be faithful enough to deliver the meat.

I found this very interesting. That your blessings will never be eaten up by your rival.God will cause them to deliver the blessing to you.He may use whichever available means but the end result is, it will get to you; whether through enemy, frenemy or foe.

Therefore,do not be worried that your blessings could be stolen. It could be a job that you are trusting God for but you are scared people may bribe their way to it.
If Elijah's food was never eaten by the ravens,so will your blessing not be hijacked by the enemy or by those whose pockets seem deep.

Be encouraged in the Lord.Your blessings are in safe hands. In their appointed time, God will deliver them to you.

THE VOICE IN MY HEAD

Given 60 seconds, how many times can you jump on one foot?Just tell me a number.

Asked this question two weeks ago,I said 36 times. Not that I had tried the exercise before but in my imagination,36 was as precise as I could get.One of us said 120 I gave them this 'really?! so you think you can beat us all' look.

So the clock was set and we all started the exercise. On and on we jumped. Then the moderator shouted stop! She then asked how many we had done. I was at 74. Others  were at 80 even 90.

As you would bet, we were all shocked that we had managed to do twice of what we had expected. Then came in the real shocker. The moderator had tricked us.She had actually stopped the clock at 30 seconds instead of 60.To mean, if we had gone the full minute, assuming I was jumping at the same pace, I would have done 148 jumps!!!

We all stood there shocked or lets say pleasantly surprised; but with a life lesson. That so often, we limit ourselves. We think we can only do so little, yet in us is great potential to do beyond. There is a kavoice within that says; 'Mwarray that's the furthest you can go.No further'.

Today, as I sat to reflect back on that lesson, it dawned on me that we are sometimes our worst jeerers.
I  thought of encouraging you to go beyond the negating voice within or even without that tells you, 'you cannot make it' you cannot win' 'you can only go upto a given level' This day I urge you to rise above the voice in your head. Go forth and be all that God created you to be; believing that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.
